The reason that you don't really see any here is that imports from Madagascar are banned in Europe. That does not mean they they are happily protected in the wild though, the rest of the world outside Europe can still import them (this goes for all Madagascan wildlife, although I guess special circumstances may be negotiable with zoos and breeding programmes).
It also means that it is near impossible to get cb specimens from outside the EU as it is impossible to prove without any doubt that an animal has been cb, so they assume they are all wc. Since they are all CITES (whatever index) you need import papers, there is no way of brining them in legally without declaring them to customs.
I saw a small group of Brookesia for sale in the UK earlier in the year/last year, but I've not seen any more...
Hate to say it, but you'd probably be better trying to find some of the more unusual species of Rhampoleon. _________________ European Protected Species Licensing - Do you know enough?

I didn't know that Madagascar-Europe bann thing. Thank you for letting me know that. Well.. have to start to look around for Brookesia but if I can't find anything - maybe Rhampoleon then. Or more Uroplatus _________________ Madagascar - All things bright and beautiful and a little more besides |

Sure I will tell and I'll definitely try to breed them if I find any.
Captive farmed... are those been sold as WC, CB or CF? _________________ Madagascar - All things bright and beautiful and a little more besides |

have been looking at these recently... brilliant little fellas and very easy to care for from what I gather.
I have a question relating to the use of exo terras here... what size would be acceptable? these chams use the leaf-litter more than the height yes?
I have a 48 inch aquarium set up forest floor style currently and am struggling to decide what goes in at the moment, cresties, more frogs or these. though to be honest its down to cresites and these
48 inch seems HUGE for such small lizards, but it would be a lovely big space for them... wheras the smaller exo terras only have a small floorspace..
would one of the large exo T's be better and will these cams use any of the height? |
