lol thats true i never thought about it like that. I guess i was thinking of trying to be as close to nature as possible. Do snakes scavange in the wild or always hunt??? |

yeah i thought so but didnt really think they would scavange for food. they use their heat pits for sensing movement with heat vision dont they. i guess thats why we need to warm the rats lol and of course who can forget the amazing tongues |

they sense heat with the pits. and smell with thier tongues. they are amazing really. what else could survive as long as them without eating. _________________

i know i was reading that anacondas can go over a year after eating a large meal. i love anacondas they really are stunning i think they may well be to large to keep though |

not too large to keep-plenty do-but cut your teeth on something smaller first.
With regard to strike feeding, when you have a few royals (and you will!!), think how long it will take to take to waggle a mouse in front of all them. If it takes a dead stationary rat, let it! _________________ so many morphs, so little money

to be honest im trying to get my boa to eat without striking. she is like atrain just now, i dunno what like a strike from her would be when she is fully grown. _________________

yeah i love the boas too they are amazing and so beautiful too. i would like one soon. god im like a child in a candy shop. i love the chondros but thats a future project. what kind of boa do you have lynne? one question too - should you provide a a water bath for royals, i have a large bowl in the viv but i have never seen her drink from it but when i put her back in the viv over the water bowl she always takes a drink i think she is just lazy |
