what i mean is......you know how sometimes its really hellish to get them eating anything.....well if they want mice, and will eat mice, give them mice. you can get jumbo mice which are huge.
i have seen me offer a rat and you would think i had slapped them with it, few seconds later offer a mouse and the strike like a train. am not going to argue with them over what they are eating as long as i know they are eating. _________________

Well thanks everyone.
He does have a dark hide. It is over the heat pad.
The water container is also half over the heat pad.
As he is only small I guess he feels safe in the small container.
I will remove the water and see if he still likes the container.
I only have to feed him at the moment.
(Chameleon is on his way).
I will try the weaner rats as I am sure if anything tries to enter his container it will be attacked.
I do just pop my finger in the hole to see what he does but I have yet to leave it there for a long time. _________________ Joey (From Sunny Clacton-on-Sea)

I would imagine that as long as you haven't been handling mice or rats before you sick your finger in the hole your probably quite, unless he suddenly turns serial killer over night
If you go very quiet or start typing funny we'll know I was wrong _________________ www.draco2.co.uk

When I had my Burmese I did once offer my hand inbetween rats.
As silly as this might sound I would rather know there was a risk of attack then just let it happen one day.
He just 'sniffed' my hand then went back to the bottom of his viv.
He then took a rat straight after.
I was told he wouldn't attack unless he felt threatened and I trusted this advice. _________________ Joey (From Sunny Clacton-on-Sea)

Anyway, I just emptied the container of water and he went straight back in there.
I think he just likes it and feels safe in there. _________________ Joey (From Sunny Clacton-on-Sea)
