I'll keep my fingers tightly crossed then!
It would be nice for it to go somewhere where I'm happy about it going - saves me all the worry that I had last time! _________________ European Protected Species Licensing - Do you know enough?

Gorgeous, you are very lucky.
I have a large viv from vivbuilder which has a water resistant back in it, Ive had it for two years now and think it may only last another year or so, unfortunately it is starting to rot where the substrate goes - but only on the backing. Mind you, you might not wisk to use substrate in which case it could be fine for you. the rest of it has withstood daily or twice daily sprays for cresties for two years. _________________ Cheers Angi

this is where it comes in handy doing flooring, i stuck vinyl in the inside of my viv and then siliconed the joints, been going around 8 months and no signs of water damage! " will fit vivs for free chams lol" |

Sounds like a plan - any close up pics? Did you use aquarium sealant?
Thanks Angi - I think vivbuilder might be a good option. _________________

here are a few better pictures, i have found this to be 100% water tight to the best of my knowledge, it has a clean and sterile look when it is clean its also very easy to do and saves on paying out to get someone else to build the viv. Regarding the silicone im sure i just used the standard stuff that i use every day, perhaps it might pay to use some kind of anti bacterial silicone though. |

Cheers. I think I'll probably have a go at this in the summer! Were they self adhesive, or did you stick them to the viv? What with?
Thanks again! _________________

i cut the vinyl to size and applied a water based adhesive to the wood, allowed it a few minutes to go tacky then stuck the vinyl. If you are interested in doing it at some stage, just drop me a pm and i will go through it step by step, you could even go for a patterned vinyl, like tile affect, that might look quite good. |
