If you witness a good ovulation (i.e. a large swelling) then the prognosis would be for viable eggs. Very Happy However, some follicles don't develop fully and it is these that don't get fertilized and result in slugs.

(Incidentally, I don't mean to come across as a know-it-all so sorry if it appears that way. Embarassed)

Dave, a nice person who also does know-it-all, or most of it anyway, is JUST the sort of person that is wanted on this Forum. Very Happy I am sure that everyone will agree with me. Only by asking someone who is knowledgeable will the rest of us learn. Thankyou for your helpful answers.
