Great looking leachies Jackie
I have kept mine in the same groups since I bought them over 2 years ago. I'd heard just how vicious they could be to each other so I wanted to be sure they were used to others of the same species (I got lucky and ended up with only one male per group). Repashy did tell me that they were fine in breeding groups, even 1.3's (his island E's, not just any leachies). _________________

Again thank you for the kind comments everyone.
Thank you for the advice Dean and Scott.
Dracowoman2 - in principle it's the same. Leachies can be sexed from the age of around 3 months old using a magnifying glass. However, I didn't believe I had a female until she laid her first clutch - I got her as a baby and couldn't believe my luck...lol. The preanal pores on my male were visable to the naked eye when he was around 4 and half months old. The bulge didn't come along for a good few months later (around 6 months). It's takes much longer for leachies to mature than Cresteds. My female will be 5 in September this year and this is her first year breeding. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

I wish you all the luck then Jackie, especially as it's her first year breeding. I guess that means that her first clutch was just something she did on her own, as I know other species can produce eggs without being mated? Please correct me if I'm wrong _________________ www.draco2.co.uk

She laid three infertile clutches last year - two eggs at two month intervals. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

Certainly sounds like she should be ready for some lovin then Jackie It's amazing how all these species just deal with all these things in their strides, where as us humans need doctors, nurses, drugs........: _________________ www.draco2.co.uk
