Hi,
The males are quite different from picturatus, which also has small brown female.
As far as I know care is similar/the same and I think they are egg layers not gluers.
In my (limited) experience they are quite territorial, even between females, and need a larger enclosure than you might think. If I kept them again I'd use a 2 foot cube for a trio. If you search on here, you will find an old post of mine with a pic of a viv used to house a trio. In my opinion, that wasn't large enough. They love to bask, and you must set up a spot. Ideally, spray heavily in the evening and allow to dry out thoroughly during the day - you need good ventilation for this.
Cheers,
Mark. |

Ah right, will get them an exo terra etc.
How do you sex them
I have read it is to do with the troat?
But I had a look and they all look similar.
They are viceous eaters. Which is a good sign.
Did you breed them?
What subby would be best?
I have got eco earth mixed with spagnum moss and quite damp.

The males have strong black markings on the throat, making a strong black/white contrast. The females still have dark markings, but they are not as bold/contrasting. Also males are just a little bit brighter overall.
Your substrate sounds alright to me - but I'm not an expert! Unfortunately I didn't breed them.
Cheers,
Mark. |
