i'm very interested in albino but as from a collectors point of view there are so many inbred albinos in the uk now causing problems feeding etc and i wanted fresh blood.

thats why ltc or wc.

and also i know that you can find people in africa with the morphs some of which are unusal, i know then i would have to prove it by breeding it. but its something im interested in.

what morphs i can get in the uk i will do so. it was just a thought but lesson learnt and i wont ask for help again.

Hi Keza, I don't know of any issues of inbred albino royals in the UK or infact elsewhere. I'm sure there must be some but I haven't seen any yet.

CPR have a wc albino if you really want fresh blood.

You are right, there are some morphs available direct from Africa but finding an exporter you can trust is hard but finding one from Africa is almost impossible.

Please also don't be put off from posting as your thread has been great and it's always good to see peoples opinions even if we don't all agree...that's what forums are for Cool Very Happy

Hey, sorry if I made you feel that way, only debate, with that comes questions.I've not heard of any inbred problems either, I just would like UK breeders to have some credit.

I'd say only import if your looking for something you cant find in the UK... whether its a new morph or unusual colour variation... don't import if you wanna save money!

I've got 2 animals which I'm waiting for paper work for in the US.... by the time I get them here I probably could have bought 3 in the UK! If you got money to spare and want something a little special that you cant find in the UK then go for it but be prepared for the work and time that goes with it... both getting the animals in to the UK and the possible problems that could come with it!

Just a thought...

Darrens a great guy (owner of CPR) and I would highly recommend him, in case you don't know he has exclusive rights to NERD line in the UK as well so can get some pretty unusual stuff.

That WC albino he's got is actually pretty nice, well worth a look anyway. He's also got a few other stunning Albinos, I bought one from him myself recently, stunning high contrast with no feeding problems at all.

Interesting topic,

I always have a good laugh when I hear keepers/breeders worry about how/when and If they could sell their offspring.

As far as ball python morphs are concerned, the International market is HUGE, demand far outweighs supply...

The advantage we have in Canada is CITES documents are received within 4 to 6 weeks. This being a major advantage over Americans waiting anywhere from 9 to 12 months for their papers.

Happy holidays to all

Marc
