Mine do that Rob, they often can take up to 5-6 days of pottering about in the nest tub before they lay the eggs digging test holes to find the correct heat / moisture spot.
It may help to; create a moisture gradient in the egg laying medium and also a heat gradient by placing a heat mat on one end of the nest tub and also making one end of the nest box damper than the other end. Then she will have a choice of where to lay that is best for the eggs. Privacy and quiet also helps.
They will sometimes take a few days before getting on with it. Some of my females have taken up to 10 days of test digging before laying , others have gone straight to the box and its all over in a few hours. Thats chams for you! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Thanks rick ,
its my first time as well as hers lol and im more on edge than her i think , i cover her up in the dat and the basking spot hits the laying tub on one side so gives it a slightly warmer temp there so im not going to disturb anything at the minute as dont want to stress her , she drank well this morning and i have added calcium to the water for her so getting plenty of that for the eggs , will just leave her to do it herself then and see what happens
thanks rob |

Thanks karen
right everyone
just a quick question regarding incubators , i tried to get a poly box but was unsucessfull so put this together
now the tank has a mesh top and the heat mat isnt touching the underneath as the floor is raised , checked the temps in the tubs and they are at 76f constant at the moment and its been going since last night
the other tub i have put ontop of my gecko viv which has a mesh top also temps in the tub are 78f but will fall during the night when the light is out will these work do you think
any info would be appreciated
after all its my first time also
