looks female to me as well.

i'm not a fan of popping (don't mind others doing it, as long as it's done carefully). I prefer probing since i can do both.. i think it's the easier of the two. Both require someone to show you of course.

well when i bought it i asked the guy for a boy as i was intending to have just one as a long pet/friend but he wouldnt pop or probe as he said it was extremely dangerous which i later realised he maybe just didnt know what he was doing. he said "my best guess would be this one or this one and the rest i would say are females" so i picked the one that looked nicest Very Happy
i have now come to realise that what everyone says about one is never enough is true and would perhaps like to breed a few years down the line with a mojave and a female normal would be better to have.
so basically i wanted to find out whether my snake is a Monty or maybe a Melissa Very Happy

i am very aware that the snake could have held in the hemipenes as the muscles will be strong enough at 6 months old. i have had a look a couple of times and on both occasions it has looked the same as in the pics and it was completely relaxed each time.
what are the chances it held in the hemipenes (if they are there) which would cause the appearance of a female???

kind regards, Mike...

i know it is easy for them to clench when they are being probed when older, but not sure if popping is the same. i have heard it is easier to pop when young ie not long out the egg, as the muscles have not had time to establish. but everyone here thinks she is female. so looks like she is a melissa!!

really! i might leave it a while cos she's been acting weird lately.
it seems she's found a nice resting place with her tail 1/4 in the hide on the hot spot and rest on top of a bit of the bogwood peering out of the viv. sleeps there and everything!
husbandry is fine its just strange. has been doing it the past week and a half so i was just gonna observe and see Very Happy
i'll go check if she's doing it now and post a pic in a bit.

cheers...
