okey dokey..
here are the pictures as requested...
ok...
He's in pitch black darkness when he's asleep, so that's ok.
I've been misting the tank about 3-4 times a day.. with hot (warm by the time it mists) water.
He's drinking like a fish, although, i put 4 size 2 crix in today, (dusted with the calipso calcium), and i don't think he's eaten any yet... i think he may be having trouble finding them in the tank!?
I'll have a look in B&Q tomorrow for the small ficus plants, and i'll prob get a light while im there too...
Hope he's gonna be ok... I really don't want to loose him, and i know Rach will be in bits if he goes...

Guys it looks to big and he doesnt really need that big bit of mopani wood in.
Can he get quite near to the UV? he need to be able to.
Try and do what we have said and section it off, get a ficus and keep it simple _________________

i put the cricket box in the tank when they were small and they learned to go to it and now when i open the door and put the box in they are straight down there eating withing seconds i fed mine 3 or more times a day or leave the box in there as long as the crickets can't get out
hope that helps Aidan _________________

Yep like karen has said try and section it off so he is in a smaller area. A bit of cardboard would do for now. Put just the ficus plant in there without all the fake plants and the bogwood. keep the tank somewhere warmish but get rid of the bulb.
Put in plenty of crickets about about 10 at a time but put a small amount of fruit on the floor of the viv so they don't get hungry. Keep the water going and make sure he is def drinking enough. The pipette thing is a great tip and you should try and do this about 3 times a day as well as spraying.
Oh when putting in the crickets let them climb onto the ficus themselves. Mean they will not jump onto the floor as fast. Cover up and gaps on the floor they could hide in as this will all help.
The range of a uv bulb is only about 6-10 inches so needs to be reasonably close to him to have any effect. |

OK, here we go!
Went to b&q today and got a little ficus and a hal. lamp...
Split the tank up the middle with some cardboard, and put the halogen lamp on the top. (see pics)
Do you think the distance between the lamp and the top of the ficus is ok? It's a 50w bulb...
He seems a lot happier now, took him out in the sunshine today while the tank was being sorted out. Let him climb up the palm tree that's out the front of our house... He was smilin...
let us know what you think, adjustments etc.
Thankyou! |

you could try and get a umbrella plant and put that in as well. my Yemen's love that, nice branch sort of things on it. _________________
