Are the klemmeri(sp?) hard to keep?
I have heard they are and would really like some because i am in the process of building a 1.5x1.5x2 foot viv and I need something to fill it!
what sex ratio have you got with them Rick and also any plans on breeding?

Well the room has no windows just one door for entry / exit so if the door is closed they remain in the room. The room is a dedicated herp room not just a room in the house. So the herp room could be described as one big viv in effect. The room is heated, and cooled down via an air con unit. So one big viv lots of mini vivs. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

I have had the klemmeri for quite some time and have not found them hard to keep, as far as I can tell they are doing well. I have a 1.2 if they breed they breed I will just wait and see what happens let them get on with it. I keep mine in a naturalistic set up nothing fancy quite simple, repti bark substrate, bamboo tubes, live plant etc, temp at a constant 78f and mist just once per day. They seem to be doing ok. Some of the other Day Geckos I keep at a higher humidity level than the Klemmeri. In the wild they tend to hang around the North West of Madagascar on the edges of rainforest's where the climate has little variance throughout the year. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Yep have spied them all over the place, I have some of their eggs in incubator but there are so many hiding places in the room that it is impossible to sort it all. I have left a big bamboo tube on top of the vivs see if thye may use that but knowing them they wont. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Super Phelsumas Rick. Klemmeri, Cepediana, Standingi and Guimbeaui have always been my favourites. I'll get back into them one day when I have time to keep animals that feed more than once a fortnight!
Good luck, Nick |
