The terrarium was sitting at about 68F without any heating.

I used the equipment I did because I already had it and it seemed almost silly to buy more stuff when what I had would work.

But yes I can see you point that it is a little extreme

Its been a few weeks now since I originally setup this terrarium.

I picked up my crested gecko on Saturday and he/she seems to be happy.

Here is how the final terrarium looked:
