i wasnt talking about the way the people live. i was talking about the way the eggs were kept. good god read what people write properly, and im not against cf altogether. im against the conditions the eggs are hatched in and the snakes that are not returned to the wild. another thing. a lot of the big breeders breed out there because its one big heat mat, so practically no costs in getting them.
CAN WE NOW LET THIS DIE A DEATH BECAUSE ITS REALLY ANNOYING.
Im not a stupid wee teen ager, jeez wish i could turn clock back that much, i CAN make up my mind and form my own opinions, that doesnt mean to say i think everyone should agree.
if i can come across the pics on the net i WILL post them, and will make sure you see them first. i cant show you the ones in the book, cause i cant scan and post or whatever.
but the book i was talking about a wee bit further back wasnt the book i meant the pics are in. you can have 12 cf....I DONT CARE!!!! _________________

Which book is it Lynne?
Don't worry, i'm not having a go, it sounds like something we all have to see.
The picture's i've seen of eggs incubating in a book, consists of a huge mud pit, with about a hundred eggs incubating inside. They have a huge hatch rate, battle of the fittest and all that. Royals will lay their eggs in burrows, so i cant see any immediate danger there.. Like i said before, these conditions are probably not as hygenic, as they would if we did this ourselves. If it works for them, then who are we to judge.
EDITED: i wasn't refering to you about the way these people live. And it's already been said... Most of them are returned to the wild, and more so, there is less meat on them because they've just laid eggs. If the majority of these farms do good, then you could say something similar for the way some people in the UK look after CB royals.

Each batch could have a certificate. Just an idea.
Paul I am totally sure that your wee lass is happy in her home with you, all the best with her.

i havent read thi whole thread as it is just tooooooooooooo long. the tortoise trade hasnt really been sorted. if you buy a tort with cb papers from slovenia or some other dodgy as f**k country its more than likely wc with false or corrupt papers. only way to guarantee a cb specimen is to buy of a uk breeder.........
i wouldnt mind cf royals if it was done right and proper conditions were enforced. but even the goverment in these places dont really care, who knows they maybe get kickbacks. alot of the bigger snakes are killed in the wild too, but at least if they were released they would have a fighting chance........................ |

mmmm, you reckon tortoises from slovenia would almost certainly be dodgy, what makes you say this?
I know someone who recently purchased a tortoise and has paperwork that states its from slovenia, does this mean the one they have is not legal. I also know someone who may still be selling torts from the same batch..... _________________
