I think a newcomer reading this post or even a seasoned herper will be able to distinguish that this sort of incident is a rare occurrence.

Also due to a rare incident such as this I doubt very much if anyone would tar all herp breeders / sellers with the same brush. People are not that bigoted in general in my opinion.

Yes not wise to send the payment first, I was wrong to trust the guy. I have bought lots of stuff over the internet e-bay etc. First time I have ever been ripped off. But I know I will be getting my money back in full plus after discussions tonight with Mr Radley he has also now offered me monetary compensation for my troubles on top of what he owes. I shall wait and see the outcome of this.

Mr Radley is now aware that his reputation needs to be salvaged and he assures me he is trying to do the right thing and get himself straight again.

The onus is fully on him to make amends, after all I can earn more money, it takes a long time to earn ones self respect back ditto the respect of others.

In one way or another good will come out of this, it may not be apparent at the time but it will in the end. Life can be funny like that Laughing

i have been folowing this post with great interest im soo glad you got half your money back rick i really am i just cant believe there is people out there that would do something like that. things like this make me very wary of doing deals with people i will always go to collect and animal in person and pay for it when the animal is in my hand. hope you get the rest back soon enough and this doesnt have to go on my longer.

It does not feel or seem right for me to profit from his mistakes. At least this way some good may come from the whole situation.

So come on JR do the right thing!

This has never been about the money for me, but is about the principle.
