Ouch, seriously... this is some bad luck with this dog mate, i really feel for you. How well is he responding to antiinflammatory painkillers, and which is he on?
Thinks like glucosamine, oil capsules and other such "treatments" can be good adjuncts to proper drugs, but I wouldnt use them alone.

No anti inflammatories with that, or is it the paracetamol/codeine type mixture? _________________ Interested in amphibians? Join us at Myamphibia for friendly banter, amazing pictures and great information. Make some amphibious friends today! |

Oh no...poor Dennis. You must be feeling so fed up. One of our dogs is lame and she goes about on three legs for most of the time. She's been on glucosamine for about 4 years now. So far it's helping to prevent the early onset of arthritis (we were told she would get it at a much younger age when we adopted her). She's 10 now.
Sending positive thoughts for the vet's appointment later today. Fingers crossed it can be controlled using the medication. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

Stu,
I haven`t been ignoring this thread, just couldn`t possibly think of anything to say that would be of any use to you mate.
Really sorry that Dennis has had such rotten luck. I do know what you are going through, we had our 15 year old staff put down just after christmas. Your situation is worse though, as you are unsure of the outcome and will hang on to any hope as long as the fella is still around, as anyone else in your situation would do.
Nothing else I can say mate except that I am genuinely sorry that things on the Dennis front aren`t going as you`d wish. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD
