Unless its smack bang on the top with no ventalation they dont give out huge amounts keep it a few inches off the top and it will be fine. I use these lights for PDF's and they work fine. _________________ Paul

It might keep stuff alive... but to get the crazy brom colours stronger light is better. Does the ET have a lumen count? _________________ Paul

The website doesn't mention its lumen count. Would a higher wattage increase the lumen count or is it the size/shape of the bulb?

I believe its the wattage.
Another option is T5's thin tubes that dont throw alot of heat but give out alot of light.
I have 2 T5's running across my viv's with no additional heating and the top part of the tanks hits 82 and the bottom is around 73-76.
They give out light like this
very low cost to run also _________________ Paul

The sun glo is a waste of time (for plant health/growth). I used to use it before I refurbed my viv, it gives out a very dim light.
Funnily enough I upgraded to that exact T5 daylight bulb, my plants are doing much better under this and it is much much brighter _________________ Steve P |
