Make sure you hold a few of those babies back for me Carl! (That’s if she ever bloody lays and you hatch them!)

K.Jensen: Beautiful critter you got there!

Shay: Never get tired of seeing pics of that outdoor enclosure!

Hi all.
What substrate are you all keeping your Argus on. since moving my female (not sure of sex yet, just guessing) into larger enclosure with 18" soil/sand mix she is a dusty, grey colour. she did look like the one youv'e got K. Jenson.

the substrate for my panoptes is some kind of wood chips we can get in denmark, there is 100% dust free.

i use a DG, sand, soil mix. about 50/30/20 respectively. it holds burrows great, and keeps 70% humidity in my cages for months at a time without adding water. here's a pic of the base with the dirt in it when i was still building the cage.

cheers

I bet your monitors love that Shay. when you look into my Argus enclosure, it looks like a rabbit warren lots of holes everywhere. when i sit quietly watching, i never know which hole it's going to pop out of next. another good thing about using dirt, is that it keeps their nails worn down. i give my substrate a good spray once a week.
