FEW things i have done.
sometimes moving then to a bigger or smaller contico can trigger them.
Have the warm side at 90 in the hide. I test the floor surface outside the hide. if it is 86 then in the hide will be about 90.
I use plastic hides and the green half circle hanging box liners.
Use hide which you can leave and put rat etc in front of without disturbing the snake. Get a big handfull of damp but wrung moss, if humidity is low some snakes will not feed or better still fill a plastic butty box with moss and use as hide, but make sure big hole at end to wiggle rat in front of.
I put rats in very hot water(carefull not to pop belly) dry quickly in kitchen roll and offer straight away. being carefull not to jostle contico. usefull or komplement box too much and dangle very gently in front of hide hole.
Use red bulb in middle of night gently put hot rat mouse useing long forceps near to snake. keep reheating rat if snake is showing some interest. MOST important after you have checked conditions or moved to bigger box, leave them for a week or 2. then start the above and other advice given.
Where they feeding before you bought them?
Royals are a pain but worth it (sometimes)
hope helps

I would say not to get to worked up about this. I have an adult female I got last summer that ate each week for the first 2 months I had here and has not eaten since, 4 months now. Her weight is good, hasn't lost much at all. I have heard of others that have gone as much as 11 months. As long as the weight remains good dont worry and just keep offering food, they will eat eventually.

have you tried live?
it's worth sometimes getting a meal into it, then you can worry about switching it back to defrost. _________________

My advice would be, nice tight hide, up high end temps & don't panic, it's a ROYAL and they are notorious for this, especially at this time of year ( i had one go 7 months before finally feeding, and like scott said i got it to take a small live gerbil. after that defrost mice no problem. |

Last winter one of my Royals refused to eat for about 3 - 4 months. I think he took one small mouse in that time. A snake breeder friend of ours came up and I told him my concerns. He had a good look at my Royal and told me he would start eating again in about 2 - 3 weeks - which he did (and hasn't stopped eating since, not even this winter). I asked how he knew my snake would start eating again and he said "Simple. It's winter. In the wild he would hibernate. We're coming into spring so he'll start eating again". Now why didn't I think of that
I keep my Royals at 92 deg F warm end. _________________ 3 Royal Pythons - Byron, Bobby & Rosie

mine has missed his last four feeds but has just this minute scoffed the biggest rat of his life! I reckon the "secret" is to get the mouse/rat really hot, and as was said before, if they show any interest keep reheating and offering again. _________________ Tom
