just an update, it's been 3 weeks since I released these guys into the room and they are doing fantastic.
they drink from the sink or the chameleon misting system (10 nozzles over 10 cages). They have even built up the courage to steal the crickets out of the feeder bin (instead of catching the loose ones ). I have two pairs loose in the room now, and they each have 'their' area that I can go to to find them. Hopefully i might even end up with free range baby day geckos.... _________________

update again.
3 out of the 4 now take crickets from my hand, plus they are quite happy to just stay put as I walk within inches of them.
I have also seen at least two drinking from the misting system so that looks like it works for them too.
Hopefully in the next few days I'll plant a little area up so they can have a nesting site and perhaps a feeding platform. _________________

Update.
Geckos all looking really well fed, full calcium sacs around their necks too. the only thing I keep finding is VERY BAD cuts on them. These appear to be from fights, males & females.
They totally heal within a few weeks and leave NO scarring....but then they fight again. The room they are loose in is 20ft by 12ft & they each have their own territory but obviously go into each others looking for trouble (or mating?).
As you can see from the photos, the cuts are not bothering them at all. _________________

Oof! They DO look nasty cuts! Obviously not bothered and healing up well enough. You would have thought that there was plenty of room there to avoid confrontation. I spose phelsuma are renound for being pugnacious. Maybe it`ll die down, or get worse! Be interesting to see. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

certainly suprised me to see. They heal real quick though, no blood loss, it seems to dry right over then the skin covers it without a trace.
It wouldn't suprise me to find babies soon either. _________________

That`ll be next for sure!
The healing process is so fast. I remember when I had some p. klemmeri before, if one lost a tail, it grew back so fast you could almost see it grow! It must use a hell of a lot of energy to do so though. (That`s not healing so much as re-generation but you know what I mean). _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD
