Hi Cass, The general nutrition is higher in roaches than crickets or locusts because of their lower chitin content. The lobster roach is the softest bodied of all the roaches & the meat/shell ratio is good too. If fed a balanced diet of cat-chow, grain & fresh fruit & veg (they love apple), it`s got to make them one of the most nutritious feeder insects given to date. I`m getting worried about Rick tho, he makes them sound so good, I think HE`S eating them. lobster sandwich, anyone.lol. _________________ Dave Messer @ Insectsunlimited.

Rick LOVES the lobster!
Mine are going great guns too. Haven`t fed off from my cultures yet (apart from a few right at the start to see how well they went down) so over the past 5 months they have really built their numbers up. I might try some Dubia next also.
Dave, any info on P. nivea? I did start a thread somewhere about them. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

Hi There, I was hoping to have some off Mark Warner back in May but they never materialised. I haven`t found anyone else that has any. Your best bet is if you know anyone going to the Hamm show... get them to bring some back for you & post them on. That is how I got my Blaptica dubia in the end, One of my customers said he was going over & I asked him to bring me some back. I got fed up with promises & lost causes. They`re building up quite nicely but are slow at first. I`d put them as the best non flying/non climbing species but you`ve got to be a bit patient with them at first. Sorry about the P. nivea but I`m still looking. Regards... Dave. _________________ Dave Messer @ Insectsunlimited.

Yeah, I heard they were slow but didn`t know how reliable the information was. I can wait. Might do a swap with some B. dubia if you`re still looking for some when the time comes. Mine are good stock that came from Germany. Regards... D. _________________ Dave Messer @ Insectsunlimited.
