ye but it is a full size heat mat because it used to house my rat snake, and tht is set to 80 because i dont know exactly what to change it to because people are sayin diff things |

Have you looked for care sheets on the net? i think these guys need a basking light, you can't get a high enough temp with the mat, and if you did it would propbably burn him. _________________ Kat |

i got a basking light its not that I'm worried about it's just i have some bearded dragons as well there fine, females pregnant and there heat Matt only covers half the Viv and i was curious to see if that is what the Bosc needs as well |

Don't use heat mats for monitors. Monitors dig burrows to escape heat so having the heat source coming from below is no good for them. It will also dry the enclosure out extremely quickly. I use 60 par 38 flood lights in all of my enclosures and they work great! i can range my bask spot from 120-180 as required. i use normal lights for 12 hours and red lights for the other 12 hours

thanks for that imformation, i was also wondering if my baby monitor would eat lettuce 4 a couple of days untill i can get it some crickets and meal worms or wil it die which is what im afraid of because i have only had it about 2 days |

It wont eat lettuce but don't worry it wont die if you don't feed him for 2 days (providing he is healthy and you husbandry is OK) Feed him crickets, locust, mice, quail chicks, snails and always feed whole animal products. Feed him as much as he will eat in one sitting.
