Those are very pretty.
Dunce question number 2 - is a 'morph' a hybrid or is it Chaz's friend from Tony Harts' tv show who retired to become involved in snake breeding? |

The later! LOL A morph is a random genetic colour or pattern that occurs in the wild and then is reproduced in captivity. You can then combine colours and patterns etc etc _________________ Just a collector/lover for now |

Y'all mix and match snakes?
So is it very cool to produce one that hasn't been done before or do they have to have been spotted appearing in the wild first?
I know I know, this is kinda snakey 101 but I'm interested.

OK here's how it works, lets take Burmese Python's which I'm into
1 - Unusual animal either colour, pattern or both is collected from wild.
2 - Big breeder pays thousands upon thousands to acquire that animal
3 - He then breeds it to find out its genetics
4 - If its genetic after a few 'breeding's' etc etc you will reproduce the colour or pattern .
I will not baffle you with genetics just yet because there are all different types ie simple recessive co - dom etc etc which affect how the genes are inherited and what generation they appear in. _________________ Just a collector/lover for now |

So it's much like the percentages for colours in dogs? So many from certain parents will be blue, so many will be black and carry blue?
Like a Tb will throw so many TB's in a litter and carriers of that genetic code and they will throw X percent in THEIR litter and such?
I'm not big on it but I got the basic premise I think.
We haven't managed to breed flourescant Corsos yet though.....well....except Bugsy....! |
