Would it not be far simpler to photograph them in the wild so the pictures show them in their natural surroundings?

Yes you're right Rickeezee, but this time my camera wasn't next to me, and I really wanted to photo this specie...

I released it yesterday, same day I caught it...

I can see both points of view here. Yes The Docta did react a bit over the top but he had a valid point. I am sure many people do things with good intentions but every now and again things don't go to plan so Karkov if you're going to do this be very carefull.
I'd even go as far as to suggest you contact your authorities on this subject and let them know what your doing, perhaps offer help with various projects that will get you close to these animals in a natural environment. That way you help the animal and get the photo's you want.
Just a thought Smile

Good intentions? Are you serious?

The snake got caught, was under high stress, felt threatened and bit him.
The shedding might be right ahead without him knowing it, and when the eyes get milky, the snake knows, it'll be helpless.
The snake will very likely hide for a few days after that experience though it might be hungry. This is a wild animal.
For the snake it was pure stress for it was in the hands of a potential predator. We're not dealing here with a captive bred animal. Our photographer didn't waste a single thought on that but acted just out of pure egoism, cos he didn't have his camera at hand.

That's what I call 'over the top'.

Things don't go plan? This is not even funny, Dan.

It's nothing else than illegal, and it puts a bad light on herpers, if this Beauvoir gets public. It sends wrong signals to young herpers who might think, 'Oh, who cares for protection laws ? Look at me. I'm an animal lover. I even set a link to Greenpeace on my website...

Why don't you call the authorities to send me to prison?
Your point of view is right, at a certain point...tough..can't you talk just normally? I did not offend you, why are you offending me?

I admit, I made a mistake...
but with mistakes, people learn things, which means I'll never do this again...

But you are just crucifying me... there are thousands of ways to tell things...you just choosed the worst way...

OK, this is a different approach. Until now I thought, it was just my tone that was improper, not your behavior! What did you expect?
'Oh, stunning photos! Well done, mate! Wow, what a bite! Glad you survived it'?
Going out into the wild and watch nature is fine, but not invading it.

No, I'm not crucifying you. I'm not religious.

I apologize for my rough tone. But maybe you've realized now that I found your behavior very annoying. I appreciate you've started to reflect it.

So funny...

I realized that is impossible to discuss anything with you...you are too much radical... this is a proof, between many:

But maybe you've realized now that I found your behavior very annoying. I appreciate you've started to reflect it.

Didn't you understood???????
I RELEASED THE SNAKE HOURS AFTER CATCHING IT.... I MADE A MISTAKE... the snake was in stress, ok... but how about the people who kills them? how about the americans who frequently do round-ups to kill crotalus??how about the ones that die in the road? how about pollution? how about venoms that kills their natural preys??

I just beg you to be a bit reasonable...

And you do not have power to decide whether or not I love the nature... Saying that I do not love it ,it's just an insult to me...

Now, you can write an answer to this post, that will completely disagree with what I said, just as normal...

Joao
