What group sizes do you keep Auric's in? Mine get quite aggressive during breeding season and there is alot of head grabbing (From the front) and tail grabbing (About mid-way down the tail, no tails have been lost though, Aurics seem to keep hold of their tails quite well).

The noises Aurics make are some what strange aswell during breeding season, there are about 3 distinct sounds i have witnessed so far, one for when a male is approaching a female and the female isn't interested, one for when two females are squabbling and one that the male uses to dicide which female to approach. The sound as i hear it can only be descibed as alien like, its like a squark, clicking, squeling and churp in one noise.

I have also noticed in both cresteds and gargoyles that the is a heavy amount of air tasting type activing from both the male and female when they approach each other during breeding season, and a generally trend of really rapid tail wagging.

Have you noticed these things with your groups scott?

I keep the Auric's in 1.5's

as for your observations, yep, I'd go a long with that, although unfortunately mine are not kept in the house so I don't get to see or hear much of the night time activity.
