i would of said that your male is a female if thats meant to be the male in the pic as well.
i have kept and bred basilisks and raised young to adulthood and all males even not so good ones have a sail of some kind on both the back and tail and also a double head sail whereas yours looks like a well developed female/
it would explain the lack of fertility. |

Interesting theory Kev, has got me thinking. Although it has been seen to mount the smaller female, could it be a "hot" female ?
This would explain everything.
I am also now in doubt of the shop who sold me it as a male.
Barry Naylor, who did have Wild Things then another shop in Shipley, its not the first time he has given me false info, despite him being a breeder.
He got the sex wrong for the 2 carpets I have, should have been a pair, turned out 2 females, the skink and water pythons were also wrong.
Looks like its been the same case here.
