Well we went to the vets but as yet we don't have a definite diagnosis. He said she had slight yellowing inside her mouth that could point towards kidney probs but not for sure, her tail seemed very weak and the skin is very loose around the top of the tail, this he said could point to parasite. So he wormed her and has given us a course of what he called critical care, it contained a mixture of antibiotic, anti parasite and another thing I can't remember, also another treatment that is........I can't remember, what a numpty I am lol. We will treat her for the next few days and see how she is by Saturday. If no improvement we will than have to look at having blood tests and x-rays, hopefully it won't go that far.

Right. Did they take a faecal sample? This was a reptile specialist yeah? Did they mention Coccidia? Prior to this how often were you bathing her or making her drink? Have we discussed UV lighting and calcium supplement already?

Oh yeah Soph, that was the other thing in the critical care mixture, it was calcium suppliment I believe. We took a stool sample with us that he was gonna inspect when we left and was gonna contact us if anything was not right, he hasn't got in touch so I hope that means no news is good news. The vet did say we had brought her in in good time. Thanks for your interest Soph Smile

Don't know if things are going down hill, I just had a phone call from a very upset other half, the Beardie has apparently been sick. From a previous reply from Soph, does this mean it's not good news?

Due to their physiology lizards rarely vomit/regurgitate. By doing this she will make herself very dehdrated quickly. Id recommend REPTOBOOST to add into the water (1 scoop to 500ml tepid water) and bath her in this and give her some via syringe too - about 2mls. Do this once a day, say in the morning, then in the evening do a plain tepid bath. Both baths aim for 10 minutes but stay with her. Have you heard about the faceal sample? A few things cause regurg/vomit, but include internal parasites such as worms and coccidia, growths, bacterial infection causing gut problems, kidney disease if this is causing metabolic problems and ingestion of substrate. There are other reasons also but these are the most common. If she is willing to eat, keep her eating small amounts, little and often. If she is not eating, you can try a few mls of baby food -the liquid stuff int he jars, buy the smallest jar as they only keep for 36 hours in the fridge i think. biggest thing is to keep her hydrated at the moment as if she isnt this could lead to a secondary renal failure. Lizards nephrons of the kidney cannot repair once failed, unlike humans and dogs etc so renal failure can be very quickly fatal. Keep us posted and really hope she comes ok.

Thanx again Soph, other half has bathed her again this morning and gave her some liquids which she has kept down, she is going to ring the vet and ask if she should carry on with the treatment as she is, or go back for x-ray/blood test which was to be the next step if she didn't improve. We didn't hear about the faceal sample, the vet said he would only contact us if there was something not right.

Still no improvement in the beardie, we're back off to the vets tomorra. The other half has a feeling that it can't see now, it appeared to have an eye infection a few days ago, she then tried to feed it some crickets yesterday as it's been on baby food for the last week or so, and she said it didn't seem to even see them! Not lookin very good.

Sadly, during Monday nite some time she died. So we didn't make it to the vet's, hence we don't know exactly what the cause was. Thanks for all your concerns.
