Your eggs went mouldy cause they were too humid though didn't they ? _________________ Regards, Paul.

what medium do you use to incubate leo eggs and how moist etc etc
also what do you use for the lay box etc, and how wet moist.
And how many eggs can be expected from just one mating, and is the first clutch likely to be infertile ?
also what temp to incubate for females, and how long is the incubation period.
Thanks |
For all my eggs i now use vermiculite mixed with water in equal parts by weight and then a dry layer of perlite on top of that, which the eggs lay on. In the lay box i now use that peat in a brick stuff(cant remember what its called) and just keep it slightly damp. Not sure about how many eggs from a single mating as i allways keep them in groups and it is quite common for the first eggs to be no good especially in young females.
To hatch out females you want to incubate at about 80-82, been a while since i recorded incubation dates for Leo's but they will take longer than incubating for males so expect around 50 days or so. _________________ www.Reptilebreeder.co.uk

Thanks Jas.
Yeah I know the brick stuff.
The females are 2 years old if not older so do you think the first eggs will still be duff?
I will have to get some vermiculite and Perlite then.
Do you advise crickets or mealworms for the babies.
I have never fed mealworms.
Thanks again Jas, great halp !
EDIT: also do you know the average price for nice hypo babies ? _________________ Regards, Paul.

Glad to Halp
Leo eggs will hatch on pretty much anything really its just i had better results with my other eggs that way so now do them all like it, so you could just buy the vermiculite. Hard to say about the female but she will lay plenty more so nothing to worry about.
I allways use mealworms and supplement with crickets. _________________ www.Reptilebreeder.co.uk

Ok so I will try mealworms I think.
How much do hypo's run for as babies ?
I know they are nothing special but They are all cool imo. _________________ Regards, Paul.
