Laying inverted is often a good indicator of a heavily gravid female. Most believe it enables them to get more warmth to the eggs from direct sunlight out in the wild.

Good choice in canines Stu!
I have a 5 month old old type Neapolitan Mastiff called Loca and am a big molosser dog fan!
