I keep mine in useful and komplement boxes, So long as the floor temp over the heatmat(tested with thermometer probe) is approx 87/90f i dont worry. Inside the hide/hides it is lovely and warm, even if the general outside of hide air temp drops very low e.g. 70f or even 68f. Never had a problem and the room they are in is massive and apart from when the heating is on is usually cold.
Only my personal experience and I take no responsibilty for others actions.

I notice that Lynne heats her whole room, which is what I do and recommend it. I use a convector heater to do this and recommend this way of maintaining ambient temps.
I have used ceramic radiators and didn't find any change in humidity. If you are worried about humidity, just move the water CLOSER to the warm end and not underneath the heat source. You will find that the water does naturally heat up with the air temp anyway, so I would guess your snake will be used to warm water to drink. As long as you have a warm basking spot with belly heat, then the little guy will be fine.
With wooden viv's you'll need to be careful if thinking of using heat mats inside them. I wouldn't do it in case your snake dumps/ pees all over it. Electricity and snake crap/ pee don't mix well _________________ "When i'm a big boy I wanna avatar like Johonny. lmao and rofl" |
