Set up looks good mate, I'd try and layer it up more towards the back if it's a display exhibit, allowing more of the terrarium to be seen by the public. Plus this should also give a range of microclimates, possibly using thin slate-like rocks like you have to build different levels of caves. This means they can choose the cooler areas at the bottom, so people can still possibly see them, rather then entering the caves at the top of the tank and digging down to somewhere cooler so its like a nice botanical set up
The gila looks great, fantastic colours on it. Are you putting any spot lights in there too? _________________ Regards James Stroud |

Thanks for the comments,
This one is a private display for and keeping and breeding, today I am making another enclosure along similar lines for sungazers for a public display(sungazers love caves!!!)
Sometimes here it is possible to add spotlights sometimes not, it depends on the ambient temperature where the cage is situated, the daytime ambient temp is around 29-30 where this one is located, add in the full spectrum lighting and this increases some ares of the cage to 32+.
Often here I have the reverse problem to the uk to try and keep areas cool as the natural temp is good enough for the animals to thrive.
It took me quite some time to get out of the habbit of creating hot and cool ends here and working on using natural tempartaures to heat cages. Here most of my effort goes into keeping an area cool rather than creating a hot spot.
crazy huh....lol.... _________________ Life in Bali is sweet,
