Ah right I did not know that lol.
Is it true that they take a long time to get going? _________________ Regards, Paul.

Im not saying fill it to the brim with egg crates lol, but a few more over the floor area probably wouldn’t hurt.
When I first started out with mine I kept finding discarded egg cases when using the clear plastic tubs(bare in mind they were kept in a dark cupboard) so I switched over to those silver storage boxes from Wilkinson’s and never had a problem since.
They are slow to breed but well worth the wait imo.
This is a pic taken in July, I started this colony off with 50 males and 50 females back in Nov 06. |

Looks nice!
best/quickest roaches are still the red runners (shellfordia) But I will never breed those again!
I got rid of my colony in april...smacked the last one (...?) last week...Damn...they do escape and survive! _________________ *steps are the only obstacle on the ladder to succes...*

My mate keeps roaches for his and I havent noticed much smell, whereas I find crickets a wee bit stinky...also cockroaches dont sing and I think they're very nutritious. On the other hand theres the whole escaping and colonizing the house issue .
I was thinking about starting a roach colony but if I only have a couple of lizards and I dont know if its worth the bother, only going to have a beardie and a couple of geckos. Plus I'm bad enough with crickets, cockroaches give me the heebies. _________________ 1 male caramel corn snake, Loki

i only have a berdie and 4 geckos at the moment (have eggs in incubator tho) but i left them now for a month and already got quite a few nypms (babies) and i thought in the long term it will cost me much less and as they are tropical they love the heat so in your house they will most likly die also as there non climbes they wont get out |
