I use small note books too, its always to hand if i want to have a quick glance. I record sheds, poos, feeds, what food was offered and how much the food items weighs (this way I can work out how much weight from that meal they keep after they have poo'd the nasty bits out Wink)

I use those stick yellow note pads and when that’s full then write it in a record book and also type it up on the pc.... Use the book and PC is in case I lose the book or I get a virus from downloading that doge stuff I like Laughing Laughing (I will be using jonny's Excel page because of colour scheme.)

Hi Paul

I use a software programme which was developed by Mike Willibanks called Degei. I can't recommend it highly enough. I am able to record all the usual things such as opaque, shed, feeding, defecation, measurements, medication etc. In addition it allows me to register and track clutch/litter information and genealogy records. I can also append photos of my animals against their individual records. It costs $25 and you can download it from the Internet.

As a general rule I always record all feeding / shedding activities and I weigh my Ball Pythons after every shed so that I can monitor their progress.

Hope this helps,

Cheers
Dave

I use notebooks but just downloaded and bought Degei so i am going to use both for a while see how I get on, Degei appears to be very good so far though, although there are a few annoying bugs in it that I am going to discuss with the developers see if I can't get them to fix them, mostly around the rack record keeping part of the program.

Certainly worth downloading the trial version though guys.

I'd be really interested in your feedback on the software. I think the rack function features are its weakest link. If this could be enhanced then the programme would be superb!

i have degei too but only got the one snake and write it down in a note book until i decide to carry on with the program. Smile

i think it would be excellent if you could edit more in degei such as colours on the spreadsheet but after checking out the degei forum, it seems that the developer doesnt do much to make it more interchangeable for the user. same goes for the bugs...

i dont mean to be cheeky but would there be a way of posting an example of one of your spreadsheets? they sound great! Very Happy

i should also say, this format is flawless really

I can adjust if you want mice pups, chicks or what ever, but there's no way it's going to have bugs, or go wrong in any way. It's simple, and easy. All you need is excel unfortunately.

Damn, people are seeing i'll have my own line of pastels (hopefully) and bumble bee's (even more hopeful lol).
