Just a couple of thoughts, when you probe give the snake time to relax before probing - I had a Rosy Boa probed as female because it was clenching, it was male....
If it is female and you keep it, why not pm Eggman photos of side and tum ? He could let you know if it is het for Albino. |

Well, had chance to probe the snake today and it has probed as a female . Did this once earlier today and then this afternoon to see if there was any difference between the two probing lengths. But both times it probed as a female. I have come to the conclusion that the female was not receptive and was telling the male to go away (putting it nicely ). Thanks for all the advice. _________________ Deano |

Are you sure that the male is a male?? Females will also 'joust' if another is introduced into her terriortory. _________________ If you don't know, ask! |

Did he actually ever prove his theory? Anyone could say what they think is het albino. I personally don’t believe it because I think this would have been found out long time ago by the big breeders like NERD, VPI, Ralph Davis ect that have loads of het albinos |

Yes I'm 100% sure that the snake introduced is a male, I was talking to a friend of mine and he said that it's not uncommon for snakes to bump around the enclosure together when courting and mating. _________________ Deano |

On het snakes like het albino, het piebald and others it is possible to "guess" that the snake you are looking at is het for something but there is no true visual way to tell a het from a normal. There can be indicators like high white sides, slightly different colouration to the belly, differences in the eyes etc but these are all just indicators. There is no way to know for sure until you either breed the animal or carry out DNA tests. |
