We have a 4 foot viv to put him in when he's older with the bottom 25% meshed and ventilation in the top, but we don't want to put him in there yet, as i think he will get stressed from the size of it...
He's about 2 months old now...
All his food has been dusted with calypso calcium, and occasionally nutrabal.
we'll give the curly's a bash and see if he likes them...
At the moment, he has a 10.0 UBV bulb, and a 50w halogen lamp above him (about 30cm from basking spot).
The breeder who we got him off had the powersun lamps on his babies, but about a meter away from them, and he send some pictures of the others (the one's we didn't buy), and they all seem very healthy and colourful.....and a lot bigger!)
I hope he will be ok... |

Do you have anything else in the tank apart from the plant? I would put plenty of thin branches into your tank so your chameleon can move around freely. The crickets will use the branches and create a better feeding response. Out of all the crickets available I would highly recommend banded crickets for baby Chameleons. Also when I raise my babies the temps never go above 80 until 2 months old and they thrive at these temps. When kept warmer I was losing 2 or 3 babies from the clutch. Try switching the basking spot off and just use the UV light for a couple days and see if the little fella improves. |
