like already said they do disperse...they have to! otherwise you would have a load of little babies that would get eaten very quickly if they were together. much easier for predators to find!
In the wild they hatch then leg it to the closest bush/plant...often this means that several group on the same bush but they will fight for position so the strongest get the best spots. This behaviour can be seen in vivs as the bigger babies always get the best spots.
As they grow this behaviour lessons but there is always a heirachy in any viv. If you keep several females together for example there is always a more dominant one. Is true with all species though. Plenty of cover in the viv helps limit any bullying but most of the time they settle their own arguements and estabilish their place.
Some individuals will just not get on with other chams though..same is true for certain pairs..like anything sometimes they just don't get on. You may get two dominant individuals and then you will have an issue. Putting two adults together and expecting them to get on straight away is almost impossible!  |

This is a funny and sensitive topic,i see peoples points of view but... from lots of experiance,chameleons are solitary and display agression towards others day after hatching.management of animals is best done one per viv.
Thats my point of veiw

| It is and people will always have different points of view...luckily there has been some good research done by some emminent herpetologists to back up some of the social behaviours. |
