my royal egg incubtor i built this season is just a melamine box lined with 25 mm polystyrene and the heat is provided by heat cable that runs back and forth through out the box and is supported by the angles welded together to provide support for the boxes, the one i built was big enough for 8 clutches cos i like to use largeish boxes.because i had used the heat cable and its everywhere i thought i would have got a decent heat distribution but in reality it was crap so i had to install 2 pc fans to circulate the air and this got me to less than a degree's differance anywhere in the incubator its working really well upto now too i dont have a clear door,it only takes me a second to open so i didnt bother installing one _________________ www.jamieswordsreptiles.com |

I also built an incubator this season, 18 mm melamine lined with 2 cm thick polystyrene, couple of heat mats, a pulse thermostat and a fan and that's it. Not that difficult or too expensive. Holds 9 really large egg boxes.
Incubated some carpet clutches with 100% hatch rate.
Hmm, should add a low temps warning
