i'm a big fan of S. auratus too. I think some of the more impressive are H. luteus and L128s... unfortunately these would be jap stock... they always get the best... them and places like singapore. |

Such beauts - puts my little grey pitbull to shame lol!
I asked a "pleccist" friend of mine to have a look, but haven't heard anything re: the one you're not sure on.
That's a good idea with the pea mash though... I've been trying to work out how to get my spirinula sticks to go down to his level before the others scarf them - might have to try something similar.
My fish get all sorts of treats - Shikaru's (the plec) favourite is a bit of raw potato at the moment, but he has piles of well established bogwood to rasp at too, and plenty of other foods. |

potatoes great (i always soak them though, starch isn't good for water quality!). Better than feeding things like cucumber, more to it, but i suppose it's better than letting them survive on algea and scraps. Shelled peas are fantastic, theres a lot in them. The un-ID one is a german bred hybrid of hypancistrus. |
