Is she arching her back downwards and stretching her head upwards? I have seen chams do this when they have eaten something rather a bit to large for them. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

yeah, she is stretching her head up and out when she does it. she'll do that and open her mouth and look like she's doing some sort of dry heave, and her tongue starts to come out, and then after a few seconds she'll pull her tongue back in and close her mouth and breathe normally for a five or ten minutes until she does it again. i hate having to wait til morning - there's no one around who will see her. i called all the e-vets in the area and no one sees herps. and the one vet i got in touch w/ said i can bring her in first thing in the am but she wont see her tonite. she said it sounds like she's trying to vomit... and as long as she's breathing ok, it's not an emergency. |

Well it does sound as though it may be an obstruction. Also sounds as though your vet does not want to get out of bed! Had your cham eaten shortly before these symptoms were presented? _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

i'm going to try to get some sleep, as there's nothing i can do for her right now and sitting here staring at her isn't helping either one of us. i'll keep you posted on what her vet says in the morning! |

Well I wish her all the best. Main thing is she is breathing Ok. Lets hope it is somethjing that can be rectified easily. If she is not doing the retching so much now perhaps if it is a blockage it is gradualy disolving or moving downwards. Keep us up to date. I guess you wont be sleeping much tonight in New York! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Your vet should give you baytril to treat this chameleon with if this is a respiratory problem, but if your chameleon is very small it is hard to give the correct dosage and hard to administer, |
