Hey everybody, interested to know which snake got you all into keeping them, whether it was a pet or just a snake you have 'met'
See how many people have a similar experience that got them hooked _________________ Licking this cane toad was the worst flippin idea you.............whoa man that penguin just put something in your pocket. |

Have always been fascinated by snakes and other critters. My first snake was my female corn Sophi. I got her almost 14 years ago and she is still producing eggs for me. |

Always interested in Snakes. I guess the first time I encountered a snake as a 'pet', was back about 27years. I went to a school friends house and his Dad was into the Wild West, they put on shows using blank firing replicas. However, my friend was showing me all the guns, and although interested, I was more fascinated with the Garter snake in the tank on the sideboard.
It was many years after that, I was in a pet store and noticed that they had some tubs at the back, upon investigation, I discovered they sold snakes. After a long discussion with the shopkeeper, I became the owner of a young Gopher snake, which was quickly joined by an Abberant Albino Cali King. Unfortunately about a year later, things weren't working out, due to work commitments etc, I had to pass the animals on. Things changed again a few years ago, and a Desert King caught my eye. And so the story began again... _________________ 31August2008-Kent Reptile Show (Amphibians & Inverts welcome) for more information & Booking e:mail: mrac@sky.com |

The big stinking grass snakes I used to catch in the garden and bring in the house to frighten my mum. Never forget her reaction when I brought in a female that was longer than I was tall. Didnt tell her bout the adders though, dont think she would have been happy about her 10 year old catching venemous snakes! _________________ Tom

i started my fascination with reps when I was 7 I had the afternoon off school due to a dentist's visit. There was a field behind my house and a river at the bottom, and I was watching the fish go by when a grass snake slithered up onto the boulder next to me and I stared transfixed for what seemed like hours, but it took till I was 14 to get my first rep which was 1986 when i got a normal corn which was followed soon after by a burmese and an Iggy! 21 years later I am still as fascinated as I was then! _________________ 1.0 striped supersalmon DEAD

The first snake I bought as a pet was a corn, she's a lovely snake and it's her fault I'm hooked - if she was a spawn of satan snake I doubt then I would have carried on.....and on.....and on. _________________ www.ratsnakefoundation.org |

Lol Peaches My first pet snake was also a corn, I took it on when my uncle needed to make some space. IT WAS EVIL!!! Hissed, bit, crapped everywhere but I loved it, it was my baby. My little brother has it now and it has tamed down lovely since I first had it. First ever snake experience was at about 8yrs old with a mate's dad's Black Rat Snake, he fed it while I was there and I was simply amazed! Thats when I knew I wanted one _________________ Licking this cane toad was the worst flippin idea you.............whoa man that penguin just put something in your pocket. |

Always wanted a snake since I held one on a school trip to a wildlife park when I was about 8. Then we finally got a petshop in our town that sold snakes and my Cali King caught my eye an that was the start off the contagious disease lol |
