Hi,

Thought you may enjoy some Capet Town slang.

I am starting out in the reptile trade is Cape Town South Africa. I have kept snakes for a few years now and decided to go into this business after working in the USA for a while.

My Dad has been a greate help and has created a huge reptile portal whcih I have been helping with so we have been doing lots of research hunting down the best websites.

We have had links to this forum for some time now but just never got round to joining as a member.

Anyway now that I have joined I hope to be of some help and make a contribution to this forum from time to time.

Me Again,

I was just testing The spell checker, as u can see, my spelling is not too hot and clicked on the wrong button, doing a "submit" instead of a correction.

So sorry about the spelling mistakes in the previous post.

Hi Bjorn, welcome.

So what's the reptile hobby like (popular?) in Cape Town? You have some stunning Chameleons round there (B.thamnobates).

I am also from South Africa but now live in Scotland.

Great news that you are also getting into the reptile trade there as we intend to retire to SA in the next few years and will want to set up a collection there. We will be in Mpumalanga so will have to look into the transportation rules.

Please PM me the link for your site as I would like to browse. I am actually in SA frm 25 OCT to 24 NOV this year for a visit.

Laat dit goed gaan met julle daar in die son.
( Let all go well with you there in the sun ) just so all of you know what I said in afrikaans Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Welcome to the best forum in the UK

John and Wilma

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Lets see if I can answer all the questions.

Chameleons .. picking them off the trees.

The local ones are not very spectacular like the Veiled, Jackson's etc. Secondly we have a permit system in the Cape which prevents wild collection.

Easier to import local species.

Nice to to hear from Sottishdragon, John and Wilma, ex South Africans.

Reptile trade in Cape Town is small compared to the rest of the country.
We are all still asleep in Cape Town. or so they say.

Website URL. Just click the www button and you will be there.
