Ive been wanting snakes for ages but just did not know what to get so after talking to peter parrot i decided to get king snakes. i went the the Essex show today and bought a female albino snow Cali king and a snow Cali male i was well pleased with them Ive been tagged already good job there young. has anybody got any good tips for handling these guys any help would be much appreciated thanks lee |

Congrats Lee..welcome to the world of snakes!..lol..they are only young and will no doubt calm down with some handling..Kings are aggressive feeders so you should have no problems there..as for tips i have a great one..get the mrs to hold them whilst going through their "Bitey" stage..lol works for me..although does cost me a fortune in expensive wine! _________________

If it were me i would try tonight..alot of people advise leaving them for a few days before offering food but have always offered on the day/evening that I get them home..and 9 out of 10 times they will take..even had supposedly non feeders feed when offered food on the same day.Not saying it will work for every snake but IMO does no harm to offer.Have fed the burm i got today within hours of getting her home and she looks very content in her hide! _________________

If you feed them tonight then let them be for a few days..even if they don't feed I would let them settle a bit. _________________
