Hi,
just wondering if anyone has had any experience these as i am thinking of getting a snake pretty soon and my mum will only let me if i don't have to feed it frozen mice etc. as she is a bit squeamish and mice are one of her favorite animals
Also if anyone knows where i can buy some that would be greatly appreciated as i am having difficulty!!!
Says they are more nutritious than frozen foods?!?
These don't look too real!!!^ _________________ 95% of the time people will beleive you if you give tham a statistic! |

Just get a tub (ice cream tub) and write on it in big letter snake food so you mum wont see them unless she opens the tub.
The point of the sausages is to save people sowing 2 item of pray together or putting the pray into the snakes mouth when its about to finish the first one (I do this cause my royal won't eat rats and the largest of mice are way to small and she won't eat another mice after she’s finished the first one even though it's not even a snack to her) |

I have never used this product, however I believe Cathy Love (a leading american breeder) kept some corn snakes on them and felt they were perfectly acceptable.
Personally the lack of calcium bothers me (as snakes would normally get calcium from mouse bones)
As far as nutritional adequecy goes, an adult mouse contains on average 19% protein and 9% fat, the sausages contain 16.5% protein and 13% fat.
It depends on whether you feel the differences are acceptable. I would also worry that the sanke may refuse to eat them, as they do not smell of their normal prey.
Have you thought about an egg eating snake or insect eater like the rough green as an alternative? _________________ -Hannah- |

Yes, i have thought about rough greens and egg eaters. But i think i will just buy some sausages and use mice instead so my mum thinks I'm feeding it the sausages. I'll also get a mini freezer! _________________ 95% of the time people will beleive you if you give tham a statistic! |

No idea I had a look around the places like livefood's shop and other places and they don't even have it!!! To be honest I have never talked to any one in the UK or anywhere else that use it or have used it.
Hope you can find a place that sell it.

Hi Liam,just my experience.....
Tried them, none of my Royals (4) would touch them
The liquid you mention is called Mouse Maker and is marketed by T-Rex.
It claims to be a chemical attractant that makes snake sausages irresistible....BS!!! I have had no success with either of these products.
I'm not suggesting you don't try them just because I have had no success with them,I just thought you may appreciate another (ex) users experience.
Good luck with the snakes _________________ Better smeg than dead! |
