The depth of the Plastron on a female is unlikely to exceed 2 inches, and that of a male 1.5 inches. When they achieve adulthood their length should get to about 8 inches _________________ Keeper of, Iberas, Horsfields, Red foots, Hermanns, Tunisians, Pancakes and Indian Stars.

Nice to see, thanks for sharing. What are this species like to care for Sarah? Dry conditions? High fibre low protein diet? What does their set up comprise of , if you don`t mind me asking. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

In the wild they live in groups in the rocks and they have a very flexible shell, they don't use there shell as protection like other tortoises, they can run like the wind and hide in and under rocks and use the rocks as protection. My two spend most of the day hidden only coming out for food when you are not around.
They live in a large table top enclosure with play sand and top soil mixed 50/50, on top of the soil and sand is 3/4 hemp and 1/4 oyster shell grit (just trying this out at the moment).
Yes more fibre for these guys, i sprinkle timothy hay on their weed diet. No fruit.
They have a 100w trex bulb (brilliant bulb) not that they use it much. _________________ Keeper of, Iberas, Horsfields, Red foots, Hermanns, Tunisians, Pancakes and Indian Stars.

So is the shell relatively soft to the touch? I imagine it, (rightly or wrongly) to be of a slightly less stiffer feel so as not to scratch so easily what with all the squeezing between rocks that they do. _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

It is softer than my other tortoises, it is quite flexable (hard to explain). I used to have an eqyptian tortoise but sadly it died.
Here is some interesting reading about pancake tortoises
