Stunning, I have read a few other posts about skunks. I have heard they make good pets, is this the case? Are the friendly and become tame so they could be classed as pets?

I spose it may be similar to a ferret. Certainly looks like one. Both are "mustelids". Ferrets can be pretty responsive so I don`t see why Skunks shouldn`t be.

Best of luck with it, keep us informed! Wink

Actually Skunks aren't Mustelids, they were re-classified into their own family , Mephitidae Smile

I'd say they make excellent pets, but not having kept them long at all I am no expert. Stompy, our male has settled in really well to the household, he's waiting at the bottom of the stairs when we get up (waiting for breakfast), knows the sound of the fridge door and comes running when you open it, has learnt how to open the fridge Rolling Eyes . Mary-Jane seems to be settling in as well, no problems with the dog (but Blaze, my dog is a total star, just takes it all in his stride and slopes off somewhere quiet where the skunks can't get him).

I would love a skunk but I think sensible other half would throw a big loop if I came home with one Laughing

We already have, frogs, toads, tadpoles, salamanders and chameleons in the bedroom. Crickets, mealworms, axies and baby Bombina MAXIMAS IN THE BATHROOM.

Plus lots more everywhere else. Perhaps a skunk would go unnoticed. Twisted Evil

She is stunning!!

I had the pleasure of meeting two skunks at the reptile fan club party.
A normal skunk and a albino.
Lovely little things, and one to add to the wish list
