has anyone been to ibza when you go there the place is crawling with geckos and i was told they are unique to there or not. also what speices are thye exatly. i used to catch them with my jumper then show my mum, the first 1 i caught was a baby that was tired and look hungry so i set it down in the shade near the sprinlkers.the 2nd escaped into the pool Laughing i cuaght it again. they didnt mind being handeled much so im assuming they were native leos. btw this was 3 years ago before i was experniced enough to get a gecko.

Are you sure they're geckos?

I went last summer, and all I ever saw were the Ibiza Wall Lizards (Podarcis pityusensis). These guys are endemic to the island, so may be what you mean?

They were absolutely everywhere, and pretty brave little fellas too! I think i've got some photos kicking around somewhere - i'll probably be able to load them up next week. I spent so much time watching these, they're so entertaining!

mabye but i do know for a fact there tails drop off just like a gecko.they waited just outside the beach cafe and i fed them a left over icecream cone i had and didnt want. he ate it oddly seeing as there insectivourous( misspelled). i had a pendant with a silote of 1 that i always wore till it snapped. if i ever do go there again ille studie the marckings and take note of it. ille have a littile reasearch 2. anyway if u go into the hills on the toher side of the island (oppsite from the massive fort/castle) theres a massive cave the king hid in for 15 years. theres tons of them all sitting in the shade there. also up there (apart from the odd nude sunbather Shocked is lots of bugs flying about (like mosquitos) so i assume thats there staple diet.

yeah u might be right i think these are them:The Ibiza wall lizard is native to Ibiza and the small island of Formentera. These hardy reptiles come in lots of different colours, varying from green and grey to brown and red. They live in barren areas of shrubland, and are often seen near the shore.
got it on bbc wildlife page

That's the funny thing about leos, they're very un- geckoish.

Geckos - usually - have no eyelids, and have lamellae (sticky pads, flattened) on their feet.

Leopard geckos are the opposite to normal. Laughing
