Posted: Mon Mar 20, 2006 2:16 am Post subject: The Chair Lift Attack |
|
|
I had gone skiing last weekend and gotten on a chair lift with an unknown gentleman approximately in his mid to late 50's. The chair lift stopped and complication arsised where we needed to wait for a lift mechanic to climb a tower and fix an electrical mal-function.
To my surprise, the gentleman panic (scared of heights) and grabbed my shoulder and pulled it out of socket. He was hurting me so bad with my dislocated shoulder that I gave him my other hand to hold me instead. He griped my wrist and never let it go until we were finally off the chairs. For a while there, I thought he was going to jump and bring me with him.
I have bruises on my shoulder, legs and arms to prove this attack happened.
Now if you think this is the worst part of the story, you are wrong. On top of beating me he told that "I SOUNDED LIKE HIS MOTHER". Just what every woman whats to hear. Especially coming from a man in his mid to late 50'S. That shot my self esteem down. Now I am physically and mentally hurting.
I've been trying to get rid of this French accent for some time now but it did save me last weekend.
Anyway, got my shoulder put back into place and was back on the slopes this weekend. Just came back from skiing. It was great! |

How bizarre! How on earth he thought he would make the situation better by grabbing your shoulder I don`t know. Sounds like genuine blind panic/terror to me. Poor old sod, and poor you too!

Morning Peter! Morning Rick!
My Reeves turtles are doing great! Getting along wonderfully. There always sleeping next to each other. Who knows, maybe I will become a grandmother. OH MY GOD! I DID NOT SAY THAT.
"Callous" is that Sarcasm? Europe has a few diff. words in the language and I am enjoying learning them. I'm upgrading my vocabulary. Hey maybe I could get a British Accent too! (It is well seen as a upper class when spoken with the British accent here in the US) I'll have to go back to the story of "Who drank the beer?" Tally Ho
P.S. Peter, you seem to understand some of my expressions. Why is that? I've notice a few times that you would explain the word that I had just said. Keep it up, I'm learning.
And by the way, yes the man was in pure panic. I even had to stay up the mountain with him for a while. He was white has a ghost and was having a hard time breathing. I held him in my arms for a while until he could come down enough to make it down the mountain. When he said that I sounded like his mother, I knew he was alright (at least for the moment) (Was that Callous enough for you?)
Finally at the bottom of the hill, he wanted to take me out to lunch. (If that's his way of getting a date, he need to change his strategy.) |

I mean by callous, push him out of the chair lift, as in I am being mean, not as in growth of hard skin on foot!
Poor ole boy I always act like that when trying to procure a date, I just cling on and hope I TRY NOT TO DAMAGE THEM FIRST THOUGH! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Hi Chantal, glad your Reeves are ok. Hope your shoulder is better.
Callous: spiteful, not very nice all round basically!
OR: hard areas of dry skin at base of fingers or toes. Yuk!
Maybe because I have been across the pond a few times I get some of your expressions.
When I was there, everybody kept making me speak like a performing seal almost, as apparently I spoke "Posh". YEAH, RIGHT! _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD
