Great collection you have there. Welcome to the forum.
Did you get your chahoua as babies and ended up with three males? - I'm just curious as I have a male chahoua and am wanting a female. By the looks of things the odds aren't in my favour....lol. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

peter parrot, no i have never bred my dendrobates or not yet anyway. the leucomelas have started calling in the last few weeks though so i did put a petri dish of water under one of thier coconut hides to try to intice them to breed. the tinctorius were calling over the christmas period but their trill is almost silent so its very hard to tell when they are in the mood or not.
jackie, i managed to end up with 3 males through sheer bad luck. i got my first one (gizmo) from animal aquatics in wokingham (now called jurassic pets)(when i used to work there). so i then set out to get a female for him and the only person i could find that "claimed" they could get me a female was mark at amyzoo so i agreed for him to get me one in and it turned up with no tail! then to add insult to injury it decided to mature into a male. oh well i guess that sort of thing happens. eventually 3 weeks ago i managed to get a adult breeding pair for 450 quid from steeve gill over at the living rainforest in rhyl. the female appears to be gravid as well so fingers crossed for eggs soon. i will hatch the first pair of females and grow them on to put in with my other two males so that i have three breeding groups in two years time(thats the plan anyway) _________________ 61 and counting |
