Hows this for luck. Managed to have my camera in my hand at the same time as Alfie seduced Mo!
Guess what, he was really gentle with her ! Unlike some of the horror stories I have heard. They are a young pair, but well fed, fit and healthy and both of a good size. So I hope she will be fine. They are now both smoking a fag! He has now just rolled over and gone to sleep!
In the last picture Cat is smiling!
I must admit watching them made me feel like I was a pervy voyeur! Rick . _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Was lucky timing. Nest box sorted, have used a rectangular plastic fish tank. 15 1/2 inches long 12 inches high and 9 inch depth. She should be able to dig a hole diagonally then if she wants plus I can watch as it's plastic, obviously without disturbing her.
Better make an incubator double quick. I have polystyrene tiles, heat mats and plenty of tubs and various size plastic tanks with snap on vented lids, should be able to knock something up. I assume the temp probe from mat stat goes at same level as eggs?

Nesty Box
Waiting for the water to seep down to the bottom of the peat. Hence why it only looks 50% moist.
The last picture slipped in as I did not want to waste the last attachment space.

Well Alfie coninued on and off (pardon the pun) most of yesterday pm.
He has continued again this am! What gets me is how gentle he is being.
Average performance time 4.5 mins. Not impressed, the best I've got it down to is .35 of a minute!
