Kept corns for over a year, more joined the family just recently but I also put my name down for this girl. She had an assist feed to get her going two weeks ago, since then she has taken a feed by herself. With a few more down her, she will be home to join my crew. She is now about a months old and ever so cute.

Not the best pics, but you get the idea Smile

Congratulations, now things will start to get VERY expensive!! I've never known anyone to stop at just the one royal, it's more addictive than class 'A' substances or so I'm told Laughing

I'm already planning my next buy, lol. Although she isn't home with me yet, I've had plenty of time to see her and I grow more and more in love each time, I just want her home already lol *Must be patient*

My first buy was supposed to be a pastel from John Berry but we've not spoken in a while and I just couldn't say no to her hehe

she is lovely, but i'm really curious why she has been forcefed at such a young age?? usually they'll start eating wintin 2 weeks but she just 1 month old and she has been forcefed 2 weeks ago, i don't understand that. you are very lucky that she has eaten by herself as i know that a lot of little royal's would just give up after such a stressfull experience. anyway i wish you many happy years with her

There was no forcing, maybe our views on assist are different, the method used - Using tongs to place the food item to the snakes lips. She wouldn't strike and wouldn't eat left alone, so they used this method to show her how to do it. No pressure is used, you don't open the snakes mouth and place it inside, like force feeding, just showing her *assisting*, how it's done. From there she took it without a problem and out of a batch of 20, 18 have now had second feeds without a problem (as in, they willingly go to the food item and eat it in a feeding tub) after the initial assist.
